The media was the message. Television in the sixties instilled fear and loathing by pumping war, riots, and assassinations into living rooms across America. 

By 1975, my altered ego, Auntie Soshul, overcame what Lincoln called 'the better angels of my nature' without ever saying a word. She let the music do the talking. Her lesson was clear:
